Agricol Perdiguier was born on December 3, 1805 in Avignon (more exactly in Morieres, close to Avignon). It is received Compagnon woodworker in the society of the "Devoir de Liberte" under the name "Avignonnais la virtue".
He worked all its life with to the reconciliation of the Compagnonnic societies and to the material, intellectual improvement of the companions. In 1839, it publishes Le livre du Compagnonnage, first historical work on this subject, a text underlained by a fraternal ideal which brings the sympathy of the republican literary circles quickly to him and the celebrity.
He became assistant mayor of the XII° district of Paris.
He died on March 26, 1875. He rests in Paris, in the Pere Lachaise cemetery.
